A:  The shelves are plastic.

A:  The shelves are plastic, but what I would consider a heavy duty industrial grade. I think you would have a hard time putting something on the shelves that would be heavy enough to damage the shelving. I like the plastic because of using it with cleaning chemicals, they are easy to lift out and clean when needed. Due to my undersink plumbing, I had to turn the shelving so that the top shelf opening is turned toward the inside of the cabinet, opposite of picture. It works great and I absolutely love it. I have the pull out trash bin holder in the cabinet right beside it.

A:  Actually, the frame is metal, but the black inserts are plastic.

A:  Actually, there is only ONE basket. The handle is on the very top, and it is in the center of the top. The black part under the handle is a plastic ledge that can hold a roll of paper towels or other small items. The basket itself is on the bottom portion. The reason the handle is so high above the basket is so that you can accomodate your tall cleaning bottles such as pinesol, windex, etc. When you slide the it out, the entire piece comes out as one unit. The dimensions of the whole unit are 18 1/2 inches tall, 15 1/2 inches deep and 8 inches wide The dimensions of just the bottom basket portion are 5 1/4 inches tall, 15 1/2 deep and 8 inches wide (but it is attached to the rest of it)

A:  Unit pulls out easily from many areas of unit's construction. Also towel holder can be adjusted from left to right easily so it doesn't get in way of garbage disposal unit. Easily installed.

A:  The top shelf is a piece of rounded plastic that can hold a roll of paper towels or other small items. It is not centered under the handle. It is 6 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches long. It sits under the handle to only one side. It does NOT stick out farther than the unit itself.
