The Easy Lift mechanism is located in the center of the shade, cutting the shade in the middle would expose the cords. A:  You won't be able to trim the 48" in half without messing with the cordless mechanism (they have a ruler on top that tells you where NOT to cut). A:  These are shades without any cords. Not as easily trimmed as they infer. Make certain you have very sharp exacto knives.

A:  I would not recommend cutting the length as the top rail is the mechanism for attaching to window and the bottom is nicely finished with solid rail for easy lifting and lowering. The width can be cut to size, which I did. Good luck!
