Q:I'm thinking about converting a cargo trailer into a camper and using this unit. I don't want it on the tongue. I was thinking about installing the condenser on the interior. I'd build a cabinet closed and insulated from the inside of the trailer and put a large vent on the intake side, a partition over the unit, and on the back side have a roof vent similar to evap refrig vents. I'd have to run a drain line so that it pokes out the exterior. This way the condenser would be inside the shell but with exterior ventilation. These are far more efficient and quiet than RV roof AC units. However, I'd like room on the front of the trailer for a pair of propane tanks. Does this sound feasible or with large vent will there still not be enough ventilation?

A:  I’m very sorry, but I can not answer your question, because I do not have an answer. I bought the product over a year ago and did not work for my place and I returned to Home Depot. Home Depot is an excellent company and they have several departments with very knowledgeable people that can answer all your question, call your local place and ask to talk with an specialist. Hope that you can have an answer to your question.

Q:My unit is not blowing warm air. How can I tell if I have the heat turned on properly. I have read the operation manual but seems confusing.

A:  When selecting the Mode on the Remote you need to have the Heat symbol selected it is the one on the far right. They are so small it is hard to distinguish it from the others. Set the Temperature to what you desire. Then give it about 4-5 minutes it has to cycle up to start getting warm air.

A:  Yes, mine is currently working on a 15 amp circuit. The system has worked great since I put it in and my power bill has been cut substantially. The only thing I don't like is the confusing symbols on the remote but that's a minor problem. I will be buying two more over the next year. You will need to hire someone to help install it unless you have refrigeration tools including a vacuum pump and gauges.

A:  Yes, I purchased mine last december. Installed it myself with a littile help from a friend for the tubing. Best heat I've ever had in my shop. Now that summer is almost here and I need AC Mode most days it is great. So quiet inside I can't tell its running. Outside, if you didn't know what it was you would never notice it.

Q:I live in GA, close to SC. I'm originally from PA, so the winters here seem mild to me. Will this unit work well in my location? I'm tempted to switch over to this unit solely (would have a few) for heating and cooling my house. Thanks.

A:  My main house heater unit went out in December and I used this unit as my only source of heat. It worked fantastic. I closed off all of the rooms I wasn't using and turned the temp up to 85 and it did a great job of heating. In fact, I had to turn the temp down because it got too hot. The A/C side works wonderful also. The installation was easy. The only bad part is I had to pay an A/C guy to come out and charge the system with the stuff they use for the A/C side but I even though I know it cost quite a bit I would still buy it again.

A:  I am purchasing a second one ,it is cheaper than running oil or propane heats my house real well. I live in an old new englander home . It only brought my electric bill up by 100.00 extra a month..Even on the days it was below zero..it kept up .Took care of the moisture in the air too..but my home was not too dry either.I installed it myself. That wasnt bad either.I did have to pay someone to add the coolant though.

A:  The owners booklet can be difficult to follow, but once you figure it out, both the air conditioning and the heat pump work very well. Very quiet and efficient.
