Q:I don't understand how this works. If I want to connect 3 lengths of 1/4 inch irrigation tubing, what is that bottom larger piece for?

Answer This Question

A:  This is a barbed T and not a four way - the larger bottom piece is a hand hold. The opposite side is the barb that punctures into the supply line and the hand hold makes it much more comfortable to push the barbed end through.

Q:How much gallon of water per hour does this emit?

Answer This Question

A:  Depends on what you set your pressure at and what type of emitter you are using for what type of plantings you have.

by|Dec 24, 2019

A:  It would depend upon water pressure. These are NOT pressure drips, they are simply an open hole on each end. If you did not put anything on one of the ends, it would shoot water out of it rather than drip. You really still need to get drip emitters to limit the output to your desired gpm.

A:  This is a flow through tee. You would use tubing and a drip head with the amount of flow you want with the individual plant(s). I have several drip heads coming off tubing of tee(s) rated from .5 gph to 2 gph.

A:  This isn't an emitter. Depending on what's downstream from this fitting (e.g., a couple of half gallon an hour emitters or dozens of 1 gallon in-line emitters), one to more than 30 gallons could flow through this junction in an hour,

A:  Depends on the pressure in your system.

Q:What is the difference between this and the product 1/4" Double Barbed Tee #307 in the Rainbird catalog? They do not look the same although they are described the same.

          Answer This Question

A:  I am not familiar with #307 you refer to, but Rain Bird only has one 1/4" barbed tee.

          by|May 4, 2023

A:  First off, the #307 is found in the RainDRIP catalog, so the first difference is brand. The second difference is in the name and design. The RainBIRD BT25 has a single barb on each arm, and the RainDrip 307CT has 2 barbs on each arm. The RainDRIP catalog suggests the double barb offers better performance under high pressure. My experience suggests this might be an advantage when used in full sun without a pressure regulator, but careful installation minimizes any real difference. My experience also is that the RainDRIP 307CT is marginally easier to install. Still, I wouldn't drive to another store to get one or the other; they both work well.

A:  Don't know the rain bird catalog, but the difference may be the "stud" on the tee as opposed to no stud on most other tees (stud is the cylindrical tip on the bottom as seen in the picture.

Q:I need to go from 1/2" down to 1/4" but I don't see a fitting to do that. How do I do that?

A:  Use the 1/2 - 1/4 reducer from Orbits....OR use a threaded reducer from Rainbird

              by|Dec 24, 2019

A:  Is the 1/2 in made for dripline? if so, you would buy dual tip barb and punch them into the 1/2 inch line then use tubing to go near where you want to install tee.

                by|May 2, 2020

A:  In order to accomplish this you need to cap the 1/2" tubing and then insert 1/4" fittings into the side of the 1/2" tubing where you need to.

Q:Can this split junction be ran via tubing from the main drip line with flow emtters placed after the junction/before the plant to control flow rate?

                    Answer This Question

A:  tee is designed not to decrease flow. If you add a flow through dripper head before the end of the tubing run, there would be diminished flow past that flow through head.If you add another tee for additional heads, there is not diminished flow.

A:  That depends on the house pressure

A:  The flow rate does split fairly evenly
