A:  Yes, it is reversible. It also easy to use. I made a bird feeder post and a planter post using my impact driver and drill for the first time. I have had many compliments. Not bad for a 67 year old!

A:  No it didn't. I have and older model of the same drill and it is pretty much the same. I bought the new one because someone jammed the auto-tighten chuck. I had to disassemble the drill to remove the chuck and it required pressing off gears and bearings to free the chuck. I decided the price of the new drill was only a third more than the price of the new chuck and I didn't need to mess with using a press.
