Answer This Question

A:  I do not believe so, this is not designed for that type of work.

by|May 4, 2023

A:  I would think it would cut brick r tile with the appropriate cutting wheel...but i have never done that.....it will grind metal with the appropriate wheel......i would buy a masonry saw for bricks just for the safety side of it.

A:  The grinder can be used to cut or score the concrete block using a diamond blade for dry cutting, but also use at least a dust mask and don't cut near anything that is difficult to clean dust out of.

    by|May 4, 2023

A:  It is not recommended to use cutting discs with this grinder.

A:  yes, you can cut brick and masonary with the correct cutting wheel, but this is not a heavy-duty unit and you'll probably burn it out pretty quickly like I did.

A:  We use 6" cut off wheels all the time. They work well. Just buy a high quality wheel.

                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  Thank you for contacting RIDGID. Issues related to Improper mounting-fitting, RPM ratings, as well as the type of applications type 1 discs are used for, are the reasons they are not recommended for use on RIDGID angle grinders.

                      by|Dec 6, 2016

A:  yes I use it all the time to cut metal, you'll just need to purchase a 4&1/2 cut off wheel as this only comes with a grinding wheel. then you need to flip the bottom nut that holds so that the flat side is touching the cut off wheel instead of the raised side like it would be for a grinding wheel.

A:  BR, I have used mine to cut glass, ceramic, marble tiles along with all types of metals and concrete blocks. Just make sure you use the proper cutting wheels.

A:  Mine burned out after ten(10) minutes of use. No need for a warranty when the quality is that low. I just returned it for a full refund and purchased a different brand.

A:  Yes, this grinder will work for grinding gel-coat on your boat but you will need a different grinding pad. The grinding pad that comes with this grinder will clog fairly quick. You will probably need to purchase a pad for grinding wood because it will throw the grinding dust off of the pad instead of clogging it up. I am a boat builder with 28yrs. of building and repairing boats and I have used the small grinders in repairing boats several times because they will get into areas that larger grinders can't reach.
