    Answer This Question

A:  I use this cutter for my 4" line. It chews the roots well. I treid to use the larger cutter but it wont make the corners and jams up. This cutter goes through well. Sometimes I have to go through the line twice.

A:  The T-205 works with the K-50, K-400 and K-3800. You could use a T-107 1-3/4" Spade Cutter or T-112 1-3/4" 4-Blade Cutter on a K5208 machine to break through soft blockages. These can be purchased via special order at the customer service desk.

Q:We have a 40+ year old condo building with re-lined cast iron vertical drain stacks. Will the t205 damage the pipe liner material? Is there an alternative head attachment you recommend for our application? Thank you.

          Answer This Question

A:  I would suggest contacting the installer of your liner and/or Googling the manufacturer of your liner and consult with them. There seems to be a lot of complaints lately of liners failing. My initial thought is that no snake or auger cable will be allowed to be used in a relined pipe due to their violent operation in clearing a drain and also would risk liner warranty issues. Possibly a water jetter, but too high of a pressure and I would say it could be harmful to the liner. There could even be a contract between you and the installer for clearing blockages. I would contact the people mentioned above and also check for any paper work, such as a contract or invoice/warranty, you received from installer.

              Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for contacting RIDGID! This cutter is used at the end of the cable that is used with our drain cleaners. The grease cutters are used for lines which have become badly greased with detergents and have to be opened. It is used to scrape the inside of the line to remove the grease build up.
