Q:Is this exactly 8 Inches? I'm thinking about putting this near our 2 x 8 support beam and if it's the extra .5 inch that will be disappointing.

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes it is very close if not exactly 8 inches. If you have a 2x8 that is 7 1/2 inches it will likely be taller than it. Maybe a bit more than 8 inches with the cleats.

A:  If you can possibly buy at a plumbing supply store, do it. I'd avoid this product again. I only needed 2 sections (4 pcs), on short notice, so I gave this a shot. Huge mistake. I had to use zip screws to hold it together, it should just snap in. And I had to cut every flange to use the correct channel hardware. As to your question, I do believe the outside dimensions were true, but nothing else about this product worked as it should.

A:  Yes, duct work sizes are what they say they are. Not illogical like lumber sizes. Sorry

              by|Dec 1, 2019

                A:  Yes, exactly 8 inches.
