Q:Is this a 1080p system?

Answer This Question
A: No, this is not a 1080p system.
by|May 3, 2023
A: No this DVR does NOT support any HD products such as 720p or 1080p by technologies like Analog HD, CVI, TVI. It is strictly analog up to 960H cameras but should work with D1 or CIF analog camera (good for legacy). 960H might sound better than 720p but it isn't. 720p cameras are much better resolution and detail capture. 960H is just D1 with wider aspect ratio (more visible area tacked on each side). Same detail or pixel density as D1 but D1 is 'square' 4:3 ratio while 960H (Wide D1) is 16:9. You'd only want to use this for legacy compatibility or concerns. If you are purchasing entirely new system and will be installing new cable, new cameras, the only reason you should buy this system is economy price and you cannot afford any of the superior technologies such as HD IP network system (NVR).

A: All of the Q-See systems are considered DIY. Probably the most difficult part of setting up these systems is running the cables between the camera and the recorder.
