A:  Hi Cecilia Great question! Little Lime hydrangea is small enough to grow in containers and also stands out as a bold mass planting. It grows 3-5 feet tall and wide at maturity. Its bright bloom coloration makes it an excellent choice for cut flower gardens and can be used fresh or dried. This reliable performer blooms on new wood, so a quick trim in late winter or early spring will encourage fresh growth and an abundance of buds. Like most hardy hydrangeas, it is hardy to Zone 3 and does best in full sun or part shade.Summer flowers open soft green and turn pink and burgundy in fall. A:  Little limelight’s are hardy in zones 3 to 8 depending on where you live in Florida where zones are 8, 9, 10 and 11

A:  These didn’t last a week in St Petersburg! Get a variety at a local nursery that is made for our climate.

A:  No, I would not consider them fragrant but They Are So Beautiful!!!

A:  I have not noticed any fragrance. Mine is still fairly small(second year) but blooming well.

A:  I wouldn’t recommend these. They didn’t grow at all. I returned them for credit and bought hydrangeas from a local nursery. 

A:  I have a couple of these and just bought another. They grow fairly fast. The two I have get a good amount of sun but I have others facing north and they do well also.

A:  It stayed kind of small the first year, but the second year it really took off. I got a larger one at the same time and it has almost reached the same size as the larger one. I definitely recommend this shrub.

A:  I put two in pots, and they've stayed small, but bloom extravagantly. I planted one in the ground, and I believe it reached full size by its second year.

A:  Mine did not do well. They did not really bloom and died over the whole winter

A:  I purchased a little lime hydrangea in the one gallon container in 2017. Although the plant was very healthy, it did not bloom at all in its first year. The following year, the plant had a few blooms but looked nothing like the picture on the Home Depot website. This year the hydrangea has come into its own. It is an absolute beast in the landscape. It’s at least five feet tall with dozens of huge blooms. It’s now mid-September and it’s still producing new stalks and beautiful white flowers. I think it’s a terrific plant. You just need to give it time, lots of sun and a little Rose Tone in the spring.

A:  Hello Cynicalsue, When a plant is first establishing itself into a new environment it puts all its energy into establishing a healthy root system to prepare for winter. This means next season it can put more energy towards healthy blooms in the summer. I hope this information helps. A:  Hi Dv, I recommend you apply Proven Winners Continuous Release fertilizer when planting and Proven Winners Water Soluble plant food may be needed in mid summer. A:  Yes, I prefer to add 1 c. vermiculite to the loose soil mixed with Timberland garden soil and a couple hands full of peat moss. Good Luck.

A:  I bought 4 last summer and planted without changes to the soil. They were very small, but are growing. They are just starting to come back after the winter and all seem to be alive. I do have good soil at my home. If you have lots of clay or sand I would add some good dirt to that soil.
