                Q:How tall is the glass shade? Can this light be hung with just the rod and not the chain? Thanks!

                A:  Yes. Simply remove the rod connection adapter from the ceiling plate and install it upside down. You can then install the fixture directly to the ceiling plate without any rods at all. The overall height with no rods is approximately 9 3/4”, which is the true minimum installed height for this fixture. You will receive many more compliments on this item once you lose the cheap looking chain.

                      A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Yes, this light is dimmable, with a standard incandescent dimmer. If using LED bulbs please be sure the bulbs you purchase are dimmable. This fixture mounts to a junction box not on a track. Thanks!
