A:  Not sure, mine broke also..... Didn't hold up very well.

A:  I tried to get more of these handles for about a year. The importer seems to have stopped selling them. They were initially American made and then they started making them in China and I'm guessing that that resulted in quality control problems

Q:Does it prevent or ease carpal tunnel syndrome?

A:  Yes! And it will also save your back too!

A:  It might. I had operations for carpal tunnel and did not feel any particular strain. But the most likely help is to ease stress on your back.

A:  Great question. I have had a wrist operation in both hands and a trigger finger operation. The ProHandle is an ergonomically designed tool that allows your body to work using the best possible form for your hands, back, legs, etc. Carpal Tunnel occurs through repetitive motion probably over years and caused by whatever it is you do on a daily basis. What I can say about my use of the ProHandle is that it takes the stress off my hands because it allows me to use my hands differently. Typically when you dig with a shovel, your hand is "under" the shovel stick so you have to "bend over" and lift using your left hand (if you are rightly). That puts a lot of pressure on your wrist "plus" you have to lift with that wrist causing more stress. The ProHandle allows you to "reverse your position" so that instead of lifting with your left hand - you push down with your right hand like a see-saw. This works perfectly and take a ton of stress off your wrist so to answer your question - does it ease carpal tunnel? It would. Plus there is no more bending required. Remember to use the 90 degree angle for digging and lifting (snow shovel) and the 45 degree angle for pushing and pulling (mop, garden hoe, push broom). Just a great all-around tool!

A:  I would think it would "ease" carpal tunnel.

              by|May 4, 2023

A:  Yes, carpal tunnel syndrome is typically caused by repetitive motion and positioning your body in a way that is not ergonomic. From those who I know use the ProHandle in the Army Corps of Engineers (as well as myself), we use the ProHandle specifically because it puts your back and hands in a more ergonomic position. Basically, we can do more with less effort and injury. This in itself, will prevent or ease carpal tunnel on your wrists and help to prevent back pain or injury. It does for us. Hope this helps.

A:  Don't know. Give it a try. Just be mindful of it's strength (low, can easily break).

A:  Hey Gary, it states on HD.com and the ProHandle packaging, that the ProHandle will fit on straight handled stick tools from 5/8" (think house mop, garden rake) to 1 1/4" such as a steam cleaner. It won't go larger because then it would be too heavy for the lighter weight tools such as the garden rake. Most tools are 3/4" to 1" so the ProHandle will fit tools a little bit smaller or larger that the average tool. Of course, you can always go out and simply get screws a little bit longer and then that may help fit the 2" carpet wand. Give it a try. Oh, also is a great replacement handle for the weedwhacker! I have ProHandles on everything. It seems crazy not to. It sure beats taking aspirin!
