A:  No there is no latch with the handle. It installs through 2 holes pre-drilled in the shower door. My shower door does not have a latch at the handle. There is a small insignificant looking metal clip at the base which I think is some sort of latch. For my door, it was a perfect fit.

A:  This version has two handles one on each side of the door. You need the version with one handle and the hardware to attach from the other side which sticks out less than an eighth of an inch.

The sliding panel will stop when the inside pull makes contact with the edge of the fixed panel if there is not a bumper that will stop the sliding panel prior. A:  It comes in a 2" spacing as well as the 2 1/4" spacing.

A:  Yes it does and it's better made than the 2-1/4" version -- read my review. It's right next to it on the rack -- at the bottom near the floor -- look around there and you'll find them.
