A:  Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. The K 5057 and K 5092 are the trim plates and the mortise lock as a set. The K 5057 is black trim with no key cylinder and the K 5092 comes with a locking cylinder. Q:I purchased this K5064 lock insert a few months ago. Recently, I needed a new lock cylinder an ordered the K5061. I tried it yesterday and it would not fit into the K5064 lock insert. It was very close, butI did not want to force it in. The K5106 lock cylinder is more expensive and looks the same as the old one I took out, but I was told that the K5061 lock cylinder and K5106 were the same. The K5061 does not fit into the K5064 lock insert. Will the K5106 work?

A:  Hello Tom, our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I pulled a sample of each of these components, and both locks, though with a snug fit, they do insert and fasten to the mortise faceplate just fine. I don't doubt what you're saying is true, you make just be the "lucky one" who received a defective item preventing full insertion of the lock cylinder. To confirm, both our K 5106 and our K 5061 cylinder locks do indeed fit into our K 5064 mortise lock. Q:AS I read the specifications on where the hole are located, I find this replacement lock that is displayed as having the numbers reversed as I have measured mine. It seems that the back set numbers are actually coming from the front side of my lock as it was built. could this actually be incorrectly displayed with the dimension locations as back set - the lock I have matches the over all dimensions of the lock displayed and the dimension on the location for the screw holes for mounting inside security screen door. I actually called the manufacture Company and really got no where on this - any help would be great-full- if you purchase one of these locks did you have different dimensions on the original one? thanks

                Answer This Question

A:  Hello Jimmer2, Thank you for bringing this discrepancy to our attention, regarding the error in our line drawing dimension’s points of measure. You are correct in your findings; the 1-3/16 inch and 1-1/4 inch backset dimensions are measured from the front of the lock towards the back. The drawing is being revised and will be re-uploaded to correct this error. Thanks again for the opportunity to provide better service to the consumers of our products.
