Q:If you have double hung windows, that weigh less than 12# can you use one sash balance for both of windows, or do you need one on bothsides? I only have a hole for one.

A: Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. If you are using only one sash balance on only one side of the frame to operate just the bottom sash, or both the top and bottom sash, I would recommend either a 6lb. or 8lb. balance for your 6 lb. sash weight (H-3578 & H-3579 respectively). If your window requires a balance on each side of the window frame, then I would suggest installing 2 of the 4-1/2lb. balances (H-3577).
