A:  Hi Mark, Thanks for your answer. I too agree that working from the center would be best. However, how would this tool work in doing so? I'm sure there are secrets to the trade, but I'm just trying to understand how this tool would grab the wood in the middle of the floor. I understand how it grabs the floor at the edges. My thinking is that trying to squeeze a floor that spans 15-20 feet may not work and may actually cause more damage. I was thinking that perhaps using this tool in conjunction with a powerful suction cup(s) might help - thoughts? I can't exactly say why I won't hire this out in this forum. If there was a way for us to communicate I would be happy to share my experiences. For now, I'm just looking for the right tool to help me get the job done right. Thanks for your help.

A:  Yes it will push them together. If they’re near the center of the room you’ll need to start there and work your way to the wall. At best you can move 2 boards at a time. This is a quality tool, and in my eyes, worth the money. There are other lower cost tools that can do the same job. This is made for the installation professional where the best tools are needed. Instead of spending it on a tool, why not just hire a flooring contractor to make the repair and not deal with it??
