Q:Hi, would I be able to close the doors while the fire is burning? Why, or why not?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Jason, when a fire is burning the glass doors must remain open until the fire has burned out to embers. This is a preventative measure that should be taken against fires that are created large enough to damage the doors if they are closed during a fire. Answer This Question
A: Select the doors that are closest to your size. They have a maximum and minimum height and width because you are able to expand them to fit. You may need to add a little masonry sealant around the outside for a tight fit. We have had ours for several years, now and they work very well. No leakage of smoke around the edges.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, if you look at the top hinge of each screen door (where the door swivels open) there is a double pin like a small hair pin that can be pulled out with needle nosed pliers.
After pulling each pin, you should be able to lift the door and pull each screen door out at it's bottom and down and out. Use both hands.. The pin locks the door in, so that the screen door can't be removed normally.

A: Yes, it’s very easy to remove the two screen doors.

A: I see no reason why you would need the screen.
