A:  I believe what they mean by product height was the insert height of the glass door frame and not the brass face plate which is much larger than that. I installed this unit 2 years ago in another persons home and it fit quite nicely by following the fireplace opening measurement dimensions. It was pretty nice quality. Both vertically and horizontally they have adjusting screws to reach all opening surfaces so just go by their fireplace opening dimensions and you will be fine.

A:  Hello Sam, the overall dimensions for the small size door are: 37 1/2" Width x 28" Height (30" Height if you attach the 2" riser bar). The small size door can only accommodate a fireplace with a 29 1/2" tall opening if the 2" riser bar is attached. - GHP Group Customer Support

A:  Hello Workinman, this glass fireplace doors comes in 3 standard sizes: The overall dimensions for the small size door are: 37 1/2" Width x 28" Height (30" Height if you attach the 2" riser bar). The overall dimensions for the medium size door are: 37 1/2" Width x 31" Height (33" Height if you attach the 2" riser bar). The overall dimensions for the large size door are: 43 1/2" Width x 31" Height (33" Height if you attach the 2" riser bar). If your fireplace opening is 32" in height x 43" in width, then the large size door will fit a fireplace with these opening dimensions. - GHP Group Customer Support

A:  doors darker like an old penny - was disappointed when I first saw it but have gotten used to it now - understand the lighter brass doors are 'not in' anymore...
