A:  The temperature on a wood burning stove can easily reach 500 degrees Fahrenheit... it boils water, just like a stove... and fine to put peels, spices, oils, etc.

A:  I doubt it. I have an electric stove and won't consider doing that with this pot.

A:  I have two of these which I have placed directly on the stove top. I monitor them daily, filling as needed. They have, on occasion, run dry; however that has not caused any apparent damage.

A:  I use mine directly on the stove and try to add water before it goes dry. In use a second winter I see no consequence to its direct contact.
