A:  Yes Super Solar is only 10% open and will reduce the rain coming through but would recommend covering only the area of concern.

A:  The material is not tested specifically for "water proof". It is approximately 10% open in lab tests compared to approximately 60% open on standard screen material.

A:  This screen is heavy duty and thicker than non-solar screens. Be prepared for a more difficult installation if you are using spline in extruded aluminum channels. It is a good screen, but a challenge to install. It will darken your room.

A:  It is very heavy duty and does not stretch much at all... With that said, it does block uv very well... However it does somewhat restrict airflow so you might find it stuffy if you don't have a way to circulate the air. But the durability of this screen is virtually unmatched.

A:  THE SIZE SPLINE USED IS DETERMINED BY THE SCREEN FRAME METAL YOU HAVE OR ARE PURCHASING. SOME SCREEN METAL HAS LARGE SLOT FOR THE SPLINE AND SOME METAL HAS A VERY SMALL OR NARROW GAP. IF YOU HAVE NOT ALLREADY PURCHASED THE SCREEN METAL, PURCHASE THE FRAME WITH THE LARGER GAP IT WORTH THE ADDITIONAL WORK EVEN IF YOU ARE JUST SWICHING FRAMES OUT BECAUSETHE LARGER 1.40 SPLINE HOLDS BETTER, LASTS LONGER, IS BIT MORE FORCE IS REQUIRED TO SEAT THE SPLINE INTO THE GROOVE. YOU WILL WANT TO PURCHASE A SCREEN TOOL WITH METAL WHEELS AND A WOODEN HANDLE TO WORK WITH. DO NOT USE ONE OF THE NEW GIMIC STYLE SCREEN TOOLS. STICK TO FAITHFUL AND TRUE. IF YOU ARE DOIG MULTIPLE SCREEN YPOU WILL WANT TO BUY THE BIG ROLL, NOT THE INDIVIDUAL SCREEN PANNELS, AS THEY WILL COST MORE. THEN UNROLL YOUR SCREEN ROLL ON THE FLOOR OR TABBLE WHICH EVER IS LARGE ENOUGH TO LAY YOUR EXISTING SCREENS ON TOP OF THE NEW MATERIAL LAYING FLAT. THEN ARANGE THE SCREENS INTHE BEST POSSIBLE CONFIGURATION USING THE MATERIAL WITH THE LKEAST AMOUNT OF WASTE. WITH THE SCREENS LAYED ON TOP THEN TRACE A LIME APPROXIMATELY 2"OVER SIZED ALL THE WAY AROUND USING A YELLOW CRAYON, THEN REMOVE THE SCREENS AND CUT OUT THE FABRIC USING A PAIR OF GOOD SCISSORS. IF YOU ARE NOT REPLACING OLD SCREENS BUT MAKING NEW ONES, MAKE YOUR FRAMES AND THEN LAY THEM OUT OVER MATERIAL THE SAME WAY AND CUT. I DID LIKE THIS MATERIAL VERY WELL. TRY TO PREVENMT THE MATERIAL FROM FOLDIUNG OVER AND DEVELOPING A CREASE AS IT MAY LEAVE A PEMINENT LINE ON THE MATERIALS. ALSO YOU CAN CHOSE A SCREEN METAL FRAME COLOR. THE SPLINE SIZE IS 1.40 OR .140 IM NOT SURE HOW ITS WRITEN BUT THE NUMBERS ARE 140

A:  Yes, the screen can be installed on your screen frame, you may have to use a smaller rubber cord to install the screen. Also, depends on the condition of your screen frame. You may need to purchase or make a newer screen frame.

A:  No. I tried using the old spline which was still good but couldn't get it to fully seat into the channel. This solar screen mesh is denser than normal screening taking up more space inside the channel. I had to use new spline 1 size smaller for a secure fit.
