A: Yes, it has been used indoors and will help on the sun's rays as as far as providing shading however the sun's rays will have already came through the window thus this will not have any effectiveness for stopping the heat as if it were mounted to the outside of the window.

A: This screen is mainly for blocking sun light. It does a nice job of keeping heat out by blocking sunlight. There is no reason you can’t use it inside if blocking sunlight is the issue.

A: SunTex 90 main purpose is to block 90% of light; therefore 90% of heat before sunlight enters your house. I used Scotch Extremely Strong fasteners (a form of velcro) to attach SunTex 90 directly on the outside surface of window or sliding door glass. I didn't replace the screen.

A: The material is NOT like a tarp, this material allows for air flow and affords a bit of privacy. I have my stucco colored material enclosed in a frame, mounted on my deck railing. For added privacy, I have added a trellis with plants. I hope this helps.

A: Yes. It’s great on our windows that get direct sun, but we can still see thru it. The view is less clear, but not completely blocked. It’s a great heat barrier

A: I have this on the inside of my large front window and love it. Don't think it matters either way. Had solar screens on all windows when I lived in Arizona which worked great but here I have the option to remove it in the evenings to better enjoy my view. Hope the helps you.

A: of course. If its on the outside, the light gets converted into heat that radiates on the outside of the house. If its on the inside, then that heat gets radiated on the inside of the house. of course some of the heat will be transferred through the glass in or out of the house.
I live in the Las Vegas area where its 100 degrees with very intense light for 6 months of the year and they mount it on the outside using metal frames that cover the outside of the window frame completely. look at any house for sale online in Las Vegas and you'll see photos of them.
