Q:In the Specs it says Basin Length (in) is 21" and the Basin Width (in) is 16". It's a bit confusing since definitions conflict at times. What is the measurement side-to-side of the basin? How many inches of counter space are there on the left and right of the basin?

A:  Thank you for your question. These two tops are two different stones. Midnight black is closer to a solid black.

A:  The black model is mottled and the midnight black is not.

A:  They are very different in terms of graduals. The Midnight black is much more fine where as the other Black is larger. I recommend going to a local HomeDepot to see the difference. They typically have the samples on display. I am glad I did that prior to placing the order online because it would not have matched my absolute black granite floor tile.

Q:The Product Overview states, "Pre-drilled holes offer easy installation for the faucet of your choice". The faucet of my choice is a single hole mount. Also, most faucets are actually 4" O.C. and not 8"

Q:I purchased this top with backsplash and also 2 sidesplashes. I'd like to use the same material as a top for a short wall in the same room. I can have them cut to the size I need, unless they can be done by the supplier. Ideally, I need a piece 19.5" long & 7 1/4" wide, finished on the top, two long sides, and one end. Is this possible, and what would be the cost?? Also another piece that is a bit wider - 8.5" x 19.5", finished on one side and one end. These could probably be cut from damaged merchandise or offall, and should be a bit cheaper per s.f., right??

                    Answer This Question

A:  After speaking to the folks at my local store, the real answer would seem to be to find a local marble & granite _fabricator_ (not supplier) in your area, then ask if they have remnants of "Absolute Black" , which is the actual color name (not Midnight Black). Then get a price to fabricate the size you need from their remnants. The suppliers normally only sell entire slabs of material, which you don't need unless you want to pave your back yard!! No need to ask a store person. HD will only add markup to the price and delivery to the store. If you want to pay for the convenience, go that way.

A:  The kitchen/bath specialist in your local store would be able to advise if the same color top is able to be special ordered in the sizes you need. If it is able to be done, this type of would be a custom order created through your local store. Thank you for reaching out.
