Answer This Question

A:  The design layout and other details are on the Home Depot website below the item in a boxed section. Here is a link to those plans. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/6d/6d30cc7c-cc19-4c59-9064-4ae28b8bc668.pdf

A:  There are complete directions and a diagram. All of the concrete stones you need are included in the kit. I'm a 68 year old woman with no construction experience and I was able to complete the assembly myself without a hitch. I used paver sand to level the base that I set the first course on (you have to purchase that separately) and masonry adhesive between the rows. I was very pleased with the completed project. We live in upstate NY and the winters are tough - but it has held up perfectly through two winters and looks great! I would highly recommend this - and once you have the pattern you can just add more concrete blocks in the appropriate sizes to expand the footprint or build another.

A:  I also found the project building instructions on the Pavestone website under resources. Very helpful color coded designs! Can't wait to complete our project this summer.

Q:Why is the kit 2x the price of the pavers? If you just order to 80 minis, 8 mediums, and 60 large stones that come in the kit the price is literally half.

        Answer This Question

A:  The kit is more expensive for a couple of different reasons. First, the labor is built into having someone break down the pallets a repackage them as a kit. Also, each kit has the freight built into each pallet. When you price by the each, it shows the pickup price in store. The freight is prorated across full trucks on the in-store products helping reduce the cost. Thank you for your inquiry!

A:  Because someone has to pick it all out and put it together to make the kit.

Q:I see the infor on the 49 in X 49 inch raised bed. I want to find out what it would take for a 69 in X 69 In raised bed. I would like it a bit taller maybe 15 in high. I like the Sierra Blend. Store clerk was clueless on how to figure it. Also tried live chat and they never responded.

A:  Hi lil0kie. Thank you for your question. On page 10 of the Project Manual, you will find an example of a 38.5 inch square X 10.5 inches high fire pit which could also be used for a raised bed. How many units you will need will depend on their length. The ones in the example are 3.5 inches thick by approximately 11 inches long. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/4f/4fa2ae2c-bdba-4970-8282-4487be66ae09.pdf For a 49-inch x 49-inch bed, you will need to know the length of the units you are using. In this example, you would need one more paver on each side to attain your 49 inch width. For a 69 in width, you will need approximate two more units on each side, plus one 7 inch block on each side to reach your goal of a 69 inch width on each side, as seen on page 24 of the Project manual. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/4f/4fa2ae2c-bdba-4970-8282-4487be66ae09.pdf Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. A:  If you go to Pavestone.com and go through the rumblestone section, you can choose the block that you want and plug in your dimensions for each wall and it will calculate to the piece (including waste), how many you will need. Thank you for your inquiry!

A:  My math may be a bit sketchy, but a single kit yields approximately 48 linear feet. Two kits would give you 96 linear feet. You need 32 feet long and 2 feet deep by 2 feet deep- 36 linear feet. You should be able to do it with no problem. If for some reason it isn’t high enough you can always get additional bricks that are the exact sizes you need at Lowe’s.

A:  This is made up of three Rumblestone units you can buy at most any Home Depot (Not available at Lowes). If you look at the layer by layer layout on the site the link is below, it is made of two layers that just alternate as you go up from the ground. You can see the unit sizes and with that you can easily modify the layers to get any size you want. If you want a different color than what your local Home Depot stocks you will have to special order the kit. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/6d/6d30cc7c-cc19-4c59-9064-4ae28b8bc668.pdf

A:  That depends on how many sides we are doing. To cover 53' x 2' you'll need 446 stones. To cover 4' x 2' you'll need 34 stones. If this is a free standing raised garden bed you'll need to cover both sides so you'll double each of those numbers. Thank you for your inquiry!

Q:can I adapt this bed to 11 ft long x 6ft deep x 2.5 ft h and if so how many pallets would i need. I would like to make this be in a [____________] shape but I'm having a hard time figuring out the inner dimensions. It would be 11 ft in the back 6 ft long on both sides and 4 ft at both sides with a 3 ft inner cut in the front. So I will be able to get to the entire bed standing in the 3 ft cut. I know this is probably confusing so i appreciate any help in determining the amount of stone. Thanks TJB

A:  All RumbleStone pallets have the same volume of concrete: 24,696 cu. in. and the walls will be 7 in. in depth. So if you can estimate the total volume of block in your wall, divide by 24,696 to get the total number of pallets required. For example, a rectangular wall 11' x 6' x 2.5' high would be about 408 in. long x 30 in. high x 7 in. deep = 85,680 cu. in and would require about 3.5 pallets of RumbleStone, total
