Questions and Answers for Panasonic FlashXpress Silver Toaster Oven

A:  It's a little difficult to measure because of projecting bumps on sides and back; including the bumps it measures 13-1/4 inches wide by 11-3/4 inches front-to-back at the bottom, and is 10-1/4 inches tall. Further comment: I do like this appliance-it cooks well (although frozen items intended for a regular full oven may not be quite as evenly cooked, and I haven't tried any bulkier items, only thinner stuff). The unique heating system is superior to orange glowing heating elements alone - significantly faster, browns readily. More intense. A single flaw, other than the really hefty price tag: although it does produce great toast about as fast as a toaster, I always have to toast again for about 30 more seconds to get it anywhere past medium light brown. Annoying. I would love it if the brown-ness setting worked properly, but it does not (on mine, at least). Great for snacks or thinner dishes that require baking or browning, far faster and cooler than using the big oven. Excellent super bright light and visibility of food, counter-height location, and excellent door function, good handle (with rack auto-extending a little) make checking and using it much easier than regular oven. Here's the thing: if small counter space (or not wasting any money) is at an absolute premium, one can use a regular oven (with broiler function) to do everything this very nice toaster oven does , and not sacrifice the counter space AND the $. Note: I have not owned a really top-rated or somewhat high-priced (for instance in Consumer Reports, in regard to temp. accuracy) countertop oven or toaster-oven so I don't have a basis for comparison to those.

A:  It gets hot. You're supposed to keep it a certain distance away from the cabinets/walls.

A:  Yes, the exterior does get hot like a toaster. We really like its smaller, square size relative to larger rectangular toaster ovens with the same interior space. Its toasting, baking, and broiling functions work very well. We have no complaints.

A:  The unit is hot on the top and warm on the sides but the sides don't heat up like a toaster. Its not cool and you would not toast or heat with something heat sensitive on the top.

A:  5 min.

A:  It will take 3 mins. It may be a compact toaster oven that most people would say is too expensive for it’s size but it is worth every penny, in looks and performance.

A:  we use The medium too st setting for bageIs. That takes 2 1/2 minutes. . Haven't tried a sandwich. It obviously depends on thickness and how cold it is, but I'd guess 2-4 minutes. Not as fast as a microwave but also not as soggy.

A:  Using the toast setting on dark, it takes 3 minutes. This was twice as fast as our toaster, so we got rid of our toaster and exclusively use the FlashXpress.

A:  Faster than any other oven out there.

A:  No. I haven't tried but I don't think it would work out so well.

A:  Yes, but you have to watch it and cover the tops at some point so it doesn’t burn. I love this oven. It’s awesome!

A:  It is possible, however, there is a wide range in temperature choices. Example: 390-425 is one of the ranges in temperature which, to me, is quite a wide range. That said, I use mine all of the time for frozen breaded seafood (fish, shrimp) and it performs great as the temperatures are not all that critical.

A:  You can cook many food items and recipes in this oven. Yes, aluminum cookwear is compatible with this model.

A:  The oven comes with a pan that fits very snuggly inside the oven. The pan's outer dimensions are 9-3/4" x 9-3/4". That is the largest size pan that will fit inside the oven. There is a bit of wiggle room, but I would guess the manufacturers made it that way so there was still room for air flow around the pan.

A:  Approximately 7 x 7. I wish they had used better material to make the tray so it could be cleaned and really look like it has been cleaned.
