A:  Hello Barbara, The frame of the Euro Side Chair is aluminum. The slats on the back and seat are the POLYWOOD lumber. Most of our chairs are made with full POLYWOOD lumber except the Bayline, Euro and Metro collections. Thank you for the great question! Ashley
