Q:Would this work in a bathroom, so you don't hear the water running in the shower?

Answer This Question

A:  The Sound Absorbing Wall Panels are designed to dampen sound reverberations that might cause an echo effect within a room. The types of sounds that may cause echo could be doors slamming, foot steps, etc. The sound of water running may not be affected greatly by this product as it is not generally characterized by an echo. Another factor that may create a performance issue is potentially high humidity in a bathroom. Unfortunately, Owens Corning has no recommendations for how the sound panels may work in a damp, high humidity room.

Q:Will these block the sound coming in from another room or should I install them on that specific room?

    Answer This Question

A:  Installing sound panels on a wall will provide acoustic benefits by dampening reverberations within the room where the sound is being produced. To lessen the transfer of sound from one room to the next, you may want to consider installing acoustic insulation, like our QuietZone insulation, in the interior wall between rooms. Q:Can these be attached to a ceiling?

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the sound absorbing wall panels may be used on the ceiling, however, you will need to use some sort of construction adhesive (Pl200, Liquid Nails, etc.) and where the impaling clip will penetrate the panel, this is where the glue should be placed. The panel should then be braced until dry. I hope this addresses your question.
