Answer This Question

A:  If the hole is near one of the two ends, cut the hose evenly and install a male/female hose mender. If the hole is somewhere in the middle, cut the hose clean on both sides of the hole, and install and hose-to-hose mender. If all else fails, turn in the old hose for a new one. I wouldn't recommend patching, taping or gluing.

A:  if the hole is near the end and you won't have to cut off too much, you can get an Orbit Model # 27943 for the male end or Model # 27944 for the female end or they have a Orbit Model # 27990 which is a splicer type fitting to make repairs in the middle of the hose. with any of these, you cut the hose off and slide the hose clamp over the hose and slide the barbed fitting into the hose and tighten the clamp up snugly.

A:  If it's a hole in the middle you'll want to use this mender: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Orbit-5-8-in-Inline-Male-Metal-Mender-27945/100659290 cut off the section that damaged and join the two remaining sections. Use the mender pictured only if the male end of the hose is what's damaged.
