A:  yes. insulation is always a good idea, it might be more expensive but it will be warmer.

A:  Yes, you could install over stucco that is in good condition. I recommend our old mill adhesive or San exterior thinset

A:  50 brick in a box , each box of colonial thin brick flats does 7.3 sq ft.

A:  There is 8.7 square feet per box.

A:  You should be fine to install right to the textured painted wall using a tile mastic. As long as the wall is even.

A:  Ours was placed behind the stove in the kitchen on a sheetrock wall. A tile setter installed it for us. Then he grouted it with black grout. It looks great!
