A: If you'd like a solution similar to the one in our Ready-to-Use sprays, mix 5-parts water to 1-part OdoBan. This is a good, multi-purpose solution. However, there are several different mixing solutions recommended on the label. For example, for disinfecting, you need only 5 ounces of OdoBan per gallon of water.

Q:Does this particular one need to be rinsed after cleaning?

Answer This Question
A: There are many different use-solutions and applications for using OdoBan®. Whether or not it needs to be rinsed depends on the strength of the solution and where it is used. For example, you can mix 4oz per gallon of water for mopping. This does not need to be rinsed. You can mix a solution of 5-parts water to one part concentrate to make a spray equivalent in strength to OdoBan® Ready-to-Use spray. You can spray this on a kitchen countertop and this should be rinsed before food comes in contact with that surface. Pets should be kept away from sprayed surfaces until they have air dried or been rinsed.

Q:When used in place of fabric softeners, does Odoban affect the absorbency/breathability of fabrics? Are there certain items/types of fabric incompatible w/ Odoban? I want to avoid the detriments that fabric softener compounds can have on textiles. TYVM!

1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The active ingredient in OdoBan tends to be absorbed in fabrics. Over time, you may notice the fabrics losing absorbency. If this happens, it can be reversed and/or avoided by skipping the use of OdoBan every few wash cycles.
If fabric softener should not be used on an item, then that would apply to using OdoBan on that item as well. OdoBan should not be used in the rinse cycle for fabrics that are designed to be water-repellent or flame-resistant.
OdoBan will not harm washable, water-safe fabrics.
