A: Hello, These caps are manufactured with aircraft grade aluminum which does not rust and coated with a proprietary corrosion resistant powder coating. After many, many years you may have some build up in the cap/disk area that can be removed and cleaned. Thank you for your inquiry!

A: These are 21's = 1.5" hex caps. 81's are 1" hex caps, slightly smaller. The standard OWT timber screws do not fit he 81's. They do fit the 21's. You can buy OWT screws that fir the 81's. Or you might end up using standard decking or construction screws. Once the screw cap is on, you can't see the screw anyway.

A: They are as stated 1-1/2. That means the outer diameter is 1-1/2. That being said, the actual screws takes a much smaller hex socket.they are attached by the screw and not by the outer hex nut.

A: Any of the OWT timbre screws will work with the hex nut caps. 1.25", 2.5', 3.75" or 5.25". The caps also work with standard non-OWT construction screws that you can buy from HD. The pic shows the nut with the cap attached. You take off the cap, drive the screw through the nut, and then put the cap back on.....
