Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. OSI QUAD Sealant will adhere to itself if the surface is clean and free of any foreign materials. However, in general, if recaulking is the project removal of old sealant is the industry best practice. OSI does not recommend caulking over existing sealants/caulking’s. Q:Would this be good to seal wood siding cracks
          by|Jan 29, 2024
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for the question. It may be possible to use OSI QUAD Sealant but the results will depend upon the nature of the cracks. If these cracks are running with the grain of wood, this is a natural occurrence and your intended use may only work temporarily. If the gaps are man-made joints, as in fillet joints or flush joints, then the success will depend upon the size and condition of joint you need to seal.

Q:What do I need to replace weather stripping on my Anderson storm door?

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. OSI QUAD Sealant is a solvent-based sealant product designed for exterior weatherproofing applications and would not be recommended to install weatherstripping. The specific types of products needed for your application will depend on the composition of your weatherstripping and we recommend following the weatherstripping manufacturer's instructions for installation. Many adhesive products may experience bonding difficulties to rubber compositions and testing is typically recommended prior to use in your entire application.
