        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, Normally DC loads(inverter), operate on voltages between 11.3V and 15V. The voltage reading from the battery while being charged is 13-14.2V, the inverter will operate normally while battery is getting charged. Q:We live in windy Kansas. Could this produce enough power to maintain an electric fence charger?

          Answer This Question

A:  Absolutely! Start speed is just 6.7mph and the full 400w is at 28mph day and night. It will keep the 12v battery charged. There is also a combo package with the wind generator and solar panel so you can get even more power.

          by|May 12, 2021

A:  This turbine will charge a 12V battery or battery bank. How long you can run the electrical fence, will depend on how much power you have stored is your battery the discharge rate of your battery is what determines how long appliances will run. We recommend a deep cycle battery or battery bank to be used with this turbine, Please feel free to contact Nature Power tech support service line at 1800-588-0590 ,

Q:I am considering purchasing one of these. I live in Florida where winds are usually only about 12 MPH when it does kick up in Fall. I am not sure it would be worth it. How well will this turbine do with that wind speed?

              Answer This Question

A:  At 12mph it will still produce about 150-180 watts. Plenty to charge the 12v battery. So based on what you run off the battery will determine if that is enough.

              by|May 12, 2021

A:  the turbine will operate and produce power on winds between 12-28MPH, anything less or more will not work. The MTTP controller will only operate on a functioning battery with some voltage for the controller to be able to recognize. The battery should be a deep cycle and not a starting battery. to protect the turbine from self-damage. The controller has a built in brake function that will stop the turbine from turning during high excessive wind or if the batteries are full. This is called a protective mode. if the turbine stopped turning due to high wind speed, the controller is programmed to brake the wind turbine for half an hour. after this period. it should start again. Q:Is a dump load required to prevent run away when batteries are fully charged

                    Answer This Question

A:  No. the MPPT charge controller will take care of preventing over charge to your 12V battery or battery bank. No dump load is needed. The charge controller included with the turbine is programmed with set values as cut off and cut in voltage to prevent over charge.
