Please consider using the rubber rolls, which can be simply rolled out and hardwood floor installed overtop. Options are available in 2-5 mm thickness, and the sound insulation is improved with thicker option. A better item would definitely be the Envirotile - Flat Profile 24 in. x 24 in. Gray Paver (2-Pack). These tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter. They can easily be placed on gravel, pavement or grass and are often used for children's outdoor play areas.
