Q:Could I use these instead of red mulch? I have to replace my mulch every 1-2 years and the leaves get in it so it?s a lot of work. I would love to be able to blow the leaves off the rocks instead of having to hand pick or rake them off each time!

A: For me I laid Bird Netting over the rocks so when they were covered with leaves I just lifted the netting up and they dropped on the grass in a neat pile for me to rake. Having the leaves dry is best and not as heavy. There's probably other and better way

A: The Mosser Lee Red Lava Rock could be used as an outdoor mulch, but you will have the same issues with debris. If the leaves are dry they might just blow off, but if they have been soaked by rain and deteriorated by the elements, they will be just as hard to clean off as the mulch you had been using, maybe even harder because they are porous.

A: The pieces of Lava Rock in the Mosser Lee Red Lava Rock are not small. I would guess that they are comparable in size to the product that you purchased in the larger bag last summer.

A: The chunks are about the size of almonds & mm"s. They crush easy with a hammer if u need smaller gravel. You can use a old cooking pot & hammer them to the size you want.
