Q:7/8" diameter, is that about a half inch? I'm not sure how to measure that. I'm really wanting a curtain rod that is 18x28 and a larger diameter around 1"

A:  Hello, 7/8" is just under 1". If you want a 1" diameter rod, we do not make this style in that diameter. Only 7/8". We do however offer a wide variety of styles in 1" diameter. Thank you.

              Q:Could it be adjusted to a length of 50 inch? I ask this question because although it says 36 - 72 inch I heard that some rods cover 36 inch and then jump to 59 inches or so when used with extension and do not cover the lower range of lengths.
