Q:Can this tool be used to grind down large amounts of high areas in of a concrete slab. Does it have a safety shut off function before it burns up the brushes and becomes useless?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, this tool can be used to grind concrete with a correctly sized diamond cup wheel and surfacing shroud. You should always read the instruction manual prior to use. The Milwaukee 15 Amp 7/9 in. Large Angle Grinder with Trigger is designed for continuous use, but is not meant to replace a floor grinder if you have a large area to grinder. It does have serviceable brushes which should be checked periodically to ensure they are in good shape, but the tool will not automatically turn off.

A: I use this heavily and I think the "shutoff" is that the brushes wear out faster and it stops when the brushes are worn out. You just replace the brushes and this beast is ready to go again till that happens again.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Bryan, the Milwaukee 15 Amp 7/9 in. Large Angle Grinder with Trigger Lock-On Switch is not variable speed. As long as the grinding wheel has a 5/8"-11 arbor, it will work.
