Q:Want to use it to take my window unit AC down the stops to my first floor. Would that be doable?
by|Jun 26, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  We wouldn't recommend it; The AC unit is most likely larger than the size of the toe plate, and there really isn't anywhere to strap the AC to the frame of the hand truck.

Q:I have a 573 lb Gun Safe meausre 59" H X 40" W X 28" deep. Im sure this dolly will handle that if I use Straps and set the safe on the 28" edge and not the 40" edge. The 40" will be too wide to move thru a normal door

A:  This hand truck should work for your application but keep in mind the toe plate should not be used to lift the safe.

Q:Can this be mouted to a wall of an enclosed trailer?

      Answer This Question

A:  yes, but I will also say that this dolly is not good for moving a fridge or something big like a gun safe. I have tried both and the handles are too far down, and makes it very awkward. It has no safety straps

      by|Sep 4, 2023

A:  You could probably mount hooks to the trailer wall and hand the unit from the hooks.

Q:Can this be used to move a wardrobe? Dimensions 4’ by 6’ tall

          Answer This Question

A:  This hand truck can handle heavy loads, but it does not have a strap like an appliance hand truck. If you plan to move the item up or down stairs, I suggest you get (or rent) an appliance hand truck with a strap that can be tightened.

A:  The tires are solid rubber so I imagine if you stick to the listed weight capacity (1,000 lbs), you would be fine. However, the base plate is rather narrow for moving odd shapes - like rocks. We use it to move band equipment, a full freezer, cabinets.... no rocks...yet.

A:  This would be a good choice as long as your landscaping is somewhat of a flat surface. We normally recommend a hand truck with air-filled wheels as it cushions the load over bumpy terrain.

A:  As long as you are not going up or down any steps, this dolly will work for you. Also you may want to strap it down somehow while moving it if you are going over any uneven ground.

A:  Hello Leroy, Even though this is a good dolly, I wouldn't try it up or down steps with something that heavy. I have a 950 lb safe, it is a Patriot. I did move it with this dolly when I had new flooring, just a short distance. When I had the safe delivered to the driveway, a friend and I used a heavy duty dolly with the straps that he had, and it was still very hard. Don't forget to measure the doorway first. It might work, but just be really careful

A:  Maybe not. Although strong, it doesn't have a wide enough base to support a large safe.

A:  If you strapped the safe to the truck like I did it will work great. I moved my smallish gun safe (330 lbs) to the 2nd floor of our home with the help of my daughters boyfriend.

A:  Yes, in the reviews i saw when researching there was someone that moved a gun safe. Just make sure you have the Ratchet Straps tight. It would benefit to have a "spotter" to push it back to you but there is no reason this dolly couldn't do the job.

A:  We moved an upright freezer with all the contents still inside with no problem so I would say yes.
