A: This tool was designed for sheet metal working and will not work well to drill through thick steel products like dead bolts. I could be used to enlarge an opening in a mounted lock strike plate, however.

Answer This Question
A: It is made to drill holes in sheet metal so that you can install bushings in the metal for electrical or plumbing. As a wood splitter it would be pretty poor. To have a good wood splitter bit it would need to be larger and be a self pulling bit so that it forces the wood apart.

A: This is a metalworking tool, not meant for wood splitting or other woodworking activities. If used to drill wood, it will likely overheat. It is certainly NOT a tool for splitting wood.
