A:  The size differences are related to the maximum size of a solid drill bit.

A:  Supposed to mean. The max hole able to be drilled using a rotary hammer bit. Not to be confused with a coring bit. Different apples and oranges. If there is ever a chance you may need to drill 3/4 to 1" hole in concrete go for the 1 1/8". Has more hitting (blow) power. Other rotary hammers will get there it will just take substantially longer.

A:  Max hole diameter (max drill bit size)

                          by|May 7, 2019

A:  That’s the maximum diameter bit it’s designed to handle. So if you are just running in tapcons than buy the 5/8” cuz it’s lighter and cheaper. But if you need to drill holes that you can stick pipe through or chisel out block or something like that than you’d want the 1-1/8”. I have that one. It’s fantastic. Makes short work of cement block. The larger ones also have more punch behind the impacts.

A:  It is the max recommended hole size to drill. Based on what size hole you want/need to drill would determine which drill you would purchase
