Questions and Answers for Mayne Nantucket 60 in. x 11.5 in. Self-Watering Black Polyethylene Window Box

A:  When mounting onto brick we recommend the use of masonry hardware or "Tapcons". This hardware is not included with our window boxes but is easily available at your local Home Depot Store.

A:  Yes, our window boxes include the steel wall-mount brackets required to mount this to your home. When mounting onto vinyl siding, "Strapping" will need to be purchased separately and if installing onto brick or concrete masonry screws or "Tapcons" will be required. Full installation instructions can be found on this product listing under the "Product Details" > "Additional Resources" section.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Mayne products! Our Yorkshire 8' Item 8828, comes in 8 feet only. It also requires some assembly. Hope this information was helpful.

A:  For installation to siding, we recommend using plywood strapping (1”x4” plywood is suitable) in order to add strength and support. Attach the board to the siding where you would like your Window Box to sit than attach the brackets. After the brackets are secure slide your new Window Box into place.

A:  The window boxes also have small "feet" on the base of the window box that prevent the overflow drainage from being blocked when used on the ground. However, the Nantucket has a rounded front, and a flat back so you would want it to be up against a wall.

A:  When installing our window boxes all of the included wall mount brackets must be used to give the window box the proper support. Failure to use the provided support brackets can result in an insecure installation as well as can cause warping issues due to uneven weight distribution.

A:  I guess you could but you would ruin the integrity of the planter by drilling holes in it. You would never be able to use it as a weight bearing planter filled with dirt.

A:  For real flowers the box is very heavy so we used the black brackets
