Q:Why does NO manufacturer specify ACTUAL door size (I assume the door size of 35 x 84 is actual...not nominal), and a recommended finish opening size to accommodate the door and hardware overlap, as well as hardware size so as to locate in wall backing for support. How does anyone know what size to make the opening without the door and hardware sitting in front of them ??!!

Q:I want to stain this door and have a wood look. The specs say it can be stained and yet it also says it comes "primed". If it is primed that sounds like it can only be painted - not stained with a wood grain look. Is that correct?

Answer This Question
A: Hello Penny, The primed version of this door is constructed of MDF and will have a smooth texture. If you wish to have a wood grain texture, please visit your local Home Depot and order one of the available wood 3-lite interior slabs which will have a wood texture and are available in a variety of wood species.
