Q:Can prehung doors be trimmed from the bottom?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Dennis, The manufacture Masonite allows only 1/8" trimming with out voiding the warranty. If you were to remove 1" you would be exposing the core material. The core is supposed to be enclosed. If you need a shorter door it may be possible to special order the exact size need. See a millwork specialist at your local Home Depot to get a free quote.
