This product has not been tested to be installed inside the shower area; therefore we cannot recommend the product be used in this manner. The towel bar can be installed on tiled surfaces; you would need to contact the manufacturer of the tile to see which type of fastener they would recommend. A:  Yes, but you need a 2x4 behind the tile for the screws. I installed this in a shower with slate tile.
