A:  There is a plastic mounting plate behind each of the two posts of the holder. They are attached to the wall with screws, and then the chrome holder pieces clip on to them. There is a release tab on the underside that you can depress that will release the holder from the mounting plates. I’ve had to remove and reattach the holder from them multiple times (texture, paint, repairs, etc.) and the connection seems just as sturdy now as when they were new.
