Answer This Question

A:  Ideas: A. Tighten or otherwise increase friction in the hinges. B. Securely attach (3M VHB tape?) a small counter weight extended off the middle of the very top back of the mirror. C. Or contact the manufacturer for replacement hinges

A:  We had our 2 Moen mirrors installed over two years ago while having our Master bath remodeled. And we are very happy with them and haven’t had a problem with them staying where we put them. They are working for us perfectly~

A:  Hello Pattyproject and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen Glenshire DN2692CH Wall Mirror does offer a pivoting feature. If the mirror is not staying in the desired position when tilting, please make sure all of the hardware is securely attached. If all of the hardware is attached securely, the hardware that allows the mirror to pivot may need to be replaced. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. Our business hours are 8:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Friday(EST).

A:  Mine does not do that at all - it stays in the position I want. Sounds like yours has a loose connection somewhere. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Q:Is there anything in the mirror’s structure that would not allow this to work? I want to put my vanity under 2 windows and there is a post between them. I dont really care if the mirror can pivot.

A:  It could be hung anyway you want, but the pivot operates from the posts that anchor the mirror. The mirror would be pivoting side to side instead of top to bottom.

          by|Feb 11, 2020

A:  Yes it certainly may be mounted horizontally.

            by|Feb 11, 2020

A:  No, it is not recommended to hang it horizontally.

A:  There is a hole drilled in the mirror for the each of the two mounts. Each mount forms a clam shell over the edge of the mirror with a post passing through the hole. If you are asking whether the mirror can be mounted such that the long axis of the mirror is horizontal, then yes, it can, but either the mounts are now top and bottom or one has to drill holes on the long axis ends so that the mounts can be placed there (in which case one now has the short axis holes exposed). In your case, if the post you mention is a piece of structure to which you can attach the two mounts, then yes, the mirror can be mounted with its long axis horizontal and the two mounts along the short axis and post.

A:  Yes it can hang horizontally no problem, but the mounting brackets will be on the center top of mirror and center bottom of mirror, as the mirror has pre drilled holes that accepts the side brackets.

                    by|Feb 13, 2020

A:  Yes, but make sure that the bottom bracket is well anchored.

A:  Just a little space enough to tilt the mirror up and down to see body to the chest. They have samples of this mirror at your closest store. I sold the condo where I had that mirror.

A:  The space between mirror and wall is about 3 inches.

Q:I bought a house with one of these mirrors already installed but unfortunately the mirror constantly tilts downwards as if it was geared towards children. It doesn't stay parallel with the wall nor any other angle I try to adjust it to. It'll just rotate back down until the bottom hits the back wall as soon as I lift my hand from it. How could I fix this? Since I bought the house I do not have the proper installation instructions.

A:  I have had no problems at all with this mirror. It must have not been installed correctly. Maybe a " handy man" could help or the Moen company.

A:  I could be wrong, but I believe there are screws under the side clamps that you can tighten. We had ours installed but we've never had an issue. We did put buffer dots on the backs of ours to protect the glass from breaking and protect our walls when we do want to tip them. I would see if the side pieces holding the glass have any seam where it appears they unscrew, but really before anything, I'd go out to Moen and see if you can get a download of the parts and installation instructions. I can tell you the glass breaks easily. We had to return one upon arrival because it came cracked. Good luck.

A:  The 22 inches is from the outside of each bracket. Best wishes, Jay

A:  The mirror would be the same size. The brackets hold the mirror out from the wall and allow you to tilt the mirror either up or down a little. I would recommend using the brackets. The brackets hold the mirror securely in place and the finished looked is very nice.

It would help for someone to hold mirror until screws are loose. Now you can get to the screws that hold the brackets to the mirror. Hope this helps.

                                                                          by|Nov 16, 2018

                                                                            by|Nov 14, 2018

Carefully remove the entire unite from the wall. Lay the unit face down (back of the mirror facing you). You can then remove the mounts from the mirror by loosening/removing the screws now accessible on the mounts. Or you can simply replace the entire unit with a new one following the installation guide provided with the new unit.
