A:  The old flange piece on the original faucet I had on my whirlpool tub was removed by reaching in behind the platform for the in and using channel locks to get on the fitting. The platform for the tub had to be cut out with a jug saw after removing ceramic tile.

A:  Hello TLC and thank you for your interest in Moen products. To determine if new trim would be compatible with your existing trim, you will need to remove the spout and measure the spout shank. The shank needs to be 1-3/8”-1-1/2” tall, and you will need to remove a handle to see what is underneath. If you have a stem extension that has vertical groves all around or has an extension with a metal nut, you would be able to use new trim. If you have the metal nut, you will need to use the Moen 106378 service kit. If you see a nylon nut, you will need to check for threads inside the valve. If you have threads inside the valve, you can use the 106378 service kit with new trim, if there are no threads inside your valve, you would need to change out your valve to use new trim.
