A:  I would not use this as a screen for a firepit. It is coated. Likely the heat of the fire would melt or burn coating and release chemicals. It is not painted with a high temperature paint. I think its a baked on powder coat... not good for high heat.

A:  I suggest fastening with sturdy wire product. I think it would probably work.

A:  I would say, yes. I have mine installed with zip cable ties to an iron gate to prevent my dogs from escaping. But it also lets them see out, so it would provide shade and yet not obstruct your view of the outside.
