Q:Can this material be bent and cut easily? I would like to attach it to a 19.5" x 11" board to cover a radiator. I only need to cover the front and one side of the radiator, so I need to wrap one piece of this aluminum sheet to the two sides I'd like to cover. Thanks

A: Yes, I just recently purchased it for using as a door insert so air could move freely. I was able to cut it with a table saw as well as tin snips. To bend it straight for a 90 degree or any other angle, I would sandwich it between 2 pieces of wood for a clean bend.

A: It was very easy to cut with shears, but please take care to take your time and not bend or crease the material. It does so very easily.

A: Of course not. This is made from aluminum non ferrous metal. You need to get a metal sheet or bar that has enough iron to be magnetic .Good luck.

Q:Could this sheeting be used above a fireplace box? I am rehabbing an old fireplace, the existing mesh is a mess. It looks like steel. This would sit on the throat which is metal, and would be right above the fireplace curtains. I was thinking about painting this with a high heat stove paint. It looks nicer and seems easier to work with, than the heavier steel mesh I have found. Do you think that application would work?

Answer This Question
A: I would say contact the manufacturer. I don’t know what heat this would work to. It’s thin... so I wouldn’t. But you can always try.

A: It’s very reasonably priced. High heat stove paint is mandatory. If you aren’t happy with your results at least it is relatively inexpensive. Ours has been outside unpainted for years. Need to cut it with tin snips. Be careful. Very sharp.

Answer This Question
A: Depending on what you will be using this for will determine adhering 2 sheets together. You would need to use a very heavy duty glue for metal, but you also use a thin wire and "sewing" it through the openings of the cloverleaf.

A: Honestly it cuts like butter. You can do it yourself with the right scissors.

A: Only comes in 36" by 36" sheets. However it does cut very easily with snips or a saw and the pattern is easy to match up to achieve desired length. I used it as a 36" by 50" screen for a radiator cover/shelf and it lined up well.

A: No, but you can cut this to size very easily with metal shears that Home Depot sells.

A: It can be cut easily with tin snips, but it is 36x36. If you need 60” you’ll need a bigger piece unless you have a built area where you can conceal a seam to butt them together.

A: It is very easy to cut yourself using a good pair of scissors
