A: Yes this item is used for the edge of stairs but the shortest length it comes in is 36" But you can always cut it and use two pieces of each 36" length that you buy if you need them 17"

A: It depends on how large of a rounded edge. This isn't a very large stair nosing, so if it is a larger rounded edge it may not fit. We do not have a larger option in cinch.

A: Thank you for your question. Yes, this will work on a high traffic rental stairwell. We have not done a study on how long it will last, however with proper installation it should remain secure until removal. The adhesive used is a strong bond and will take some work to remove, but can be done with no damage to the existing flooring.
