Answer This Question

A:  Hello! To adjust the "timeout" simply press and hold the tap switch and count the number of blinks or flashes that you see on the lens of the sensor. The amount of blinks/flashes that you see corresponds to the amount of time that you are selecting. A:  Hello! The MS-OPS5M can be used in a 3-way application with either an accessory switch model MA-AS or a standard mechanical light switch. You cannot use two MS-OPS5M together in a 3-way application. Q:The description indicates this is a three way switch. Can it be used as just a two way switch with sensors at both entrances?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hello! Unfortunately, you cannot use two MS-OPS5M sensors in a 3-way application. You must have one MS-OPS5M and either an MA-AS Accessory switch at the other location or a regular On/Off mechanical switch. You can view 3-way wiring information on the installation guide here: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/0302800.pdf If you still have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 1-844-LUTRON1. Q:Will this motion light switch work with my bathroom lights and exhaust fan? I want one switch to work both units together.

                Answer This Question

A:  Yes , the motion switch will work both light and fan. The only issue I find is that in large bathrooms , if you dont keep moving it shuts off and leaves you in the dark while your in the shower.

Q:Can the Maestro 5 amp motion detector switch be used in connection with a Lutron Diva Dimmer switch in a 3 way configuration?

                    Answer This Question

A:  I know the Maestro uses circuitry to detect when a remote switch has been flipped and it switches to allow the light to turn on. So in essence the Maestro is always acting as the main switch and because of this, I believe Lutron's guidelines on installation is that only one of these types of switches can be installed in a group of 3-/4-way switches, but I have seen many YouTube videos and product reviews where people have installed two switches with the same sensing circuitry like the Maestro and I'm assuming the Diva switches use. They may have to be wired in a certain configuration to make them work together, but I am fairly certain that it is possible to install both on the same lighting circuit. If you have issues with them functioning correctly, there are videos posted where people explain how they wired them to make them work properly. Just make sure you have a neutral wire at both switch locations!

A:  Hello Bill, thank you for your question. The Maestro sensor model MS-OPS5MH can only be used in a 3-way application with a mechanical 3-way switch or a Maestro companion switch model MA-AS. It cannot be used in conjunction with another master control, such as a dimmer, in the other location. See the below spec sheet for more information https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/369666.pdf We hope this helps! If you require further assistance, our 24/7 support team is here to help. A:  I apologize! Ignore my last statement regarding the neutral wire. I forgot these had been redesigned to eliminate the need for a neutral conductor in order to function so that they would be more universally compatible.

A:  I'm not a qualified electrician, BUT, because the motion-actuated switch simply replaces a mechanically actuated switch, I would expect the other switch, when there are more than one, can be a dimming switch.
